Arugula is a studio for two set inside the tropical garden, in the quietest part of the property. Its outdoor kitchen, with a table looking onto the vegetation, is what everyone enjoys most: here you end up cooking and eating outside nearly every day, surrounded by green. There's a second, full kitchen indoors.
Parking is covered and within the property, with a 220 V outlet for charging an electric car.
Screens on windows and doors let you enjoy the garden in complete comfort. Fiber wifi and laundry service. In the garden itself you'll see toucans, hummingbirds, and agoutis.
We're in Playa Chiquita, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, on Costa Rica's southern Caribbean coast. The bus between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo runs along the main road, and Cocles, Punta Uva, and Manzanillo are a few minutes by car. Just steps away there are restaurants, a mini-market, bike rentals, and a shop renting motorbikes and ATVs and organizing tours. And the beach is a five-minute walk along a natural trail where monkeys and sloths are a common sight.
